Attention: All gospel music groups and musicians

The VICKSBURG QUARTET is planning the 11 ^th year of the "PENNSYLVANIA STATE SINGING CONVENTION" at KNOEBELS GROVE AMUSEMENT PARK in Elysburg, Pa. (near Bloomsburg) during the weekend of Sept. 13 & 14, 2008. The park is located 15 miles off I-80 in Northeastern Pennsylvania from exits 33 and/or 34. This is a beautiful family park and the gospel sing is located at the band schell in the center of all activity. This sing is by invitation only! Each group appears twice a day with 20-30 minute time slots. Groups are not paid, but they are free to sell only personal product items, if they help advertise the sing by passing out brochures prior to the convention. Gospel groups should bring extension cord, table, and tarp. There is a lot of great exposure. The sing continues outside rain or shine, and sometimes scheduled show times may be shortened and adjusted in case of a shower. There is free admission to the park, free parking, and free admission to the gospel sing. A place would be provided with electric to park your vehicle for sleeping purposes-no A/C or water. A park vehicle will transport your instruments and personal products to and from the stage area. There are concessions, first-aid stations, camping facilities, swimming pool, water park, news media, amusement rides, restaurants, and other interests too many to list. No smoking is permitted by any group members on stage, backstage, or near sales areas to assure a good gospel music "image."

Invited groups may participate one or two days. You must notify the VICKSBURGS by Aug 18, 2008 if your interested in participating. Circle your choice of dates concerning KNOEBELS on the registration form, and we’ll do every effort to work you in for 2008. If we can’t get together this coming year, we’ll do our best next year-we can only use around 20 groups! Your appearance at Knoebels will be confirmed by mail. Complete sound system will be provided including bass/ guitar amps plus an electric piano....sound tracks are discouraged!!!! Bring your own special instruments and drums!
